WOMEN'S CHRISTIAN TEMPERANCE UNION.
The annual meeting of the above Society in Pukekohe was held last week, in the Salvation Army hall, Mrs G. Frost presiding The balance-sheet showed a credit balance cf £1 13s lOd on the year's woiking. Officers for the ensuing year were elected as follows:—President, Mrs G. Frost; vice-presidents, Mesdames Hunter, Usher, Hunniford, Wilson and Stevenson; secretary, Mrs Eastern; assistant-secretary, Miss Usher; treasurer, Mrs Comrie; agent for the "White Kibbon;" Miss Goldsworthy. Satisfactory reports of work were handed in from the various departments. Arrangements were made tor conducting the business of the Society for the coming year, and a greater division of labour made eo that members could be kept busy in this noble work. A resolution was sent to the Prime Minister, as member for Franklin, deploring the fact that Roto Roa inebriates home was now to full with the victims of the "Trade" that no more can be accommodated.
