PAPARATA ROAD BOARD.

Monthly Meeting. The ÜBual monthly meeting of the Paparata Road Board was held on the 6th mat., when the following members attended: Messrs W. H. : Thomas (chairman), W. H. Anderton, A. Best, G. Wootten and the clerk, Mr, J. F. Wootten. It was decided to employ the men who were working at formation work on th Maketu road for three additional days. Details in connection with the new road which is to be taken through Mr A. Ward's property were dealt with. The plans for the work have been sent in to th: Public Works Deartment, and tbe Board hopes to have the road legalised in the near future. Mr Ross was authorised to engage a man to clean out the watertables on the by-road leading from the main load to Red Hill, Paparata, alan to get £5 worth of cleani g and repairing done on Happy Valley read. Mr H. Carter's tender of 7s 3d per yard was accepted for re-forming work oa the road that runs between the Bombay school corner to the Red road. He was aUo authorised to do 15 eha'.&s of foimation wo k on the road between his property and Mrs Hancock's property. It was decided to arrange for the re-formir,g cf 15 chains of Pinnacle road. It was decided that in view of the second mail which drives at BombayPost Office at 7.15 p.m , daily, not being sorted until 9 a.m. the following morning that the FostmasterGereral be written to and informed that unless arrangements are made for the sorti r g of tha mail at Dight time that the mail was of no use, also thit arrangements should be msde fur opening of the Post Office for the half anihour after the arrival of the mail Previously the telegrams that arrived at Bombay were delivered within a one mils radius of the Btore, but shce the new Post Office has been erected there has been r.n such delivery. —lt was decided, 1 hat the Postmaster-General be asked to arrange for the delivery of telegrams «i hin the one mile radius. A letter was received from Mr J. N. Sawyer, asking that St. Gerrge's road be made trafncable. He estimated the cost of the work at £s.—The Board decided to offer the work to Mr Sawyer. Accounts totalling £8 8s lOd were passed for payment.
