STOCK SALES.
Messrs Alfred Buckland and bona report :-- There was a fair yarding of stock at Tuakau on Thursday, January 21st. Buyers were present, and almost everything changed owners. Dairy cows, £5 5s to £7 15s; empty cows, £2 17s to £4 lis; calves, £1 3a to £l 19s. The advertised ewes brought 14s. Lambs, 6s to 8s 3d; wetbere, Ms 3a. We held our usual monthly sale in the Pukekohe yards ou Monday, January 25th, and had a large entry, all classes baing well represented. There was a large attendance and a good demand. Dairy cows made from £5 sfl to £lO ss; empty cows, £2 15s to £5 ss, according to age and condition; steers, very forward four-year-old, £9 15s to £l9 12s 6d, three to four years old £8 to £9 10s, two to three year olds £6 to £7 15s. 18months to two year old £4 10s to £5 15s, yeralinga £3 5s to £3 12s; calves, good £1 18a to £2 9s, smaller £1 Ks to £1 17s, small 18s to £1 Bs, weedy lis to 17s; 18months to two year old heifers, £3 to £4 153; yearling heiters, £2 3s to £2 15e. Beef sold steadily throughout. Cows and heifers, £4 150 to £ll 2s 6d; steers, £ll 2s 6d to £l2 155—155 sold. Bulla, heavy £9 to £lO 7s 6d. smaller £5 10s to £8 iOs.
