TUAKAU.
At the conclusion of the last monthly meeting of the Tuakau low.i Board, the Board tfent into commif.ee to consider applications ' for the position of clerk to the Board. It was unanimously decided to re-appoint Mr A. B. Tapper for a period of 12 months, it a salary of £25. Mr G. McLaren, alter serving a period of two years on the staff of the Tuakau railway station, has resigned and joined an Auckland detachment of infantry, which is to leave Auckland to augment the reinforcements in camp at Trentbam. A movement is on f:ot amongst members of the railway staff to farewell their comrade at a "smoker," at which Mr McLaren is to be presented with i token of the esteem in which he is held by his ex fellow workers. Other chauges in the railway staff include the transfer of Mr J. A. Herd to a position in the parcels office, Auckland, vacated by Mr G. T. Poole, who hai replaced the previous officer at the Tuakau railway station. As the result of the dry weather together with a diminished number of suppliers milk leceived last month at the Tuakau Creamery was considerably less than the quantity recorded fir the corresponding period of twelve months previously, the actual figures being 302,7331bs for' last December as compared with 509,3651b3 for December, 19i3. The supply of home separated cream has, however, increased from 70001bs (eight suppliers) for December, 1913, to 13,7761ba (24 suppliers) for last month.
