PAPAKURA MAGISTRATE'S COURT.
The usual monthly sitting of the Papakura S.M. Court was held yesterday, before Mr Frazer, S.M. JUDGMENT SUMMONS. In the judgment. summons case International Harvester Co. v. D. Morrison, claim for £l6 14s 2d, Mr Prendergast appeared for plaintiff Company. An order was made for payment of amount of claim within six weeks, in default 16 days' imprisonment. THIRSTY CATTLE. K. Martin (Mt. Albert) was summoned for ill-treaiiug cattle by placing tbeui in a paddock with insufficient water.—Defendant explained tbat the matter was due to an oversight owing to bis having to leave hurriedly o:i hearing of ;i domestic bereavement.—Constable Waugh agreed that such was the case, so the Magistrate said tbat he would not fine defendant, but ordered him to pay 23s costs. RAILWAY PROSECUTIONS. The Railway Department proceeded against A. Taylor for driving across the railway Hue when a train was approaching—Defendant pleaded guilty and was fined £1 and 35s costs. Another railway prosecution was brought against H. S. Love, who pleaded guilty to two charges of allowing cattle to stray on the railway line, and was lined £1 and 14a costu.
