LYCEUM PICTURES.

"The Miracle," the famous religious photo-play which is to be screened for Christmas night by special arrangement with Mr Beaumont-Smith, is considered to be one of the most attractive and elaborate mystery plays that has fallen to the lot of the cinematograph. The opening scene through a rosy glow shows the massive front of an illuminated cathedral. Monks, nuns and worshippers pass along the aisles singing. A cross materialises on the facade, darkness reigns, the scere is lowered jind then is thrown on the screen the beautiful Btory of Sister Megildis. Appropriate music will be played and special accompaniments will be sung by a quartette of voices.

The programme fcr Saturday night (Boxing Day) is beaded by the great Australian drama "The Golden Calf," and deals with the golden west—Coolgardie in the '9o's the roaring days. "The Battle Before Antwerp" gives moat representative showing of the present war and affords vivid glimpses of the fighting for possession of the city in a manner that will appease patrons who wish to see the real thing without being struck by the bursting shells that are to be seen on every side.
