LADY LIVERPOOL LEAGUE.
At a meeting of the Pukekohe branch of the Lady Liverpool League, held on Monday, 7th inst., there were present:—Misses Webster, Towoson and Usher, Mesdames Motion, McKae and O'Connor. Correspondence was received from Mrs Eames, in which she tendered her resignation as a member of the committee, owing to her leaving the district.
A letter was read from Miss Morton, of Auckland, asking for assistance with clothes for soliders' children.—lt was decided to procure material, and tbe committee agreed to meet on Wednesday afternoon and cut out and distribute the work. The comnrttea hopes to send in to the Auckland League, in time for Christmas, 17 dresses for girls and 10 Buits for boys, of various sizes. Accounts totalling £1 bs 6d were passed for payment. The chairwoman reported having sent to the Defence Stores a further contribution of comforts for tbe soldiers. The following donations have been received:—Mrs Eames, light-weight chclerabelt; Mrs Ritchie Brownlee, pair mits; Mrs Robt. Hay ward. 3 pairs socks; Mr A. Neely, donation in kind; Mrs W. J. A. Moore, 2 heads wool, 2 pairs special army cocki and one lightweight cholera belt; Mrs Graham, senr., 1 pair wristlets; Mrs Boase, 1 pair wristlets; Mrs Dell, wcol for 8 pairs wristlets, 7 pairs knitted by Mrs Henderson (Auckland), and 1 pair by Mrs Boase. Workers of wristlets : Mrs Robt. Brownlee, MrsAttewell, MrSComrie, Miss Webster, 2 pairs each; Miss Bartrom, Mrs Boulcott, Mrs Webster, Miss W. Webster, 1 pair each. Cholera belts heavy weight): Mis Mountjoy, senr,, Mrs Morgan kohe East;, Mrs Cowperthwaite (Mt. Eden\ 1 each ; Mrs Crum, 2.
