POTTED PHILOSOPHY.
A woman who talks like a book I isn't >o easily shut up. , There are some good husbands, but most of them are dead. Luxury is all the sweeter if somebody else pays for it. The worst thing about getting married is that it prevents one marrying someone else. When Weary Willie gets to the crest of the hill he is " summit' tired. A young man whose sole ambition is to make a great noise in the I world should learn boiler-making.
The easier it is to puinp a man, the less the information you get out of him is worth. Only a man whose foolishness exceeds his bravery would ever attempt to stop the runaway tongue of a
woman. Clever women are generally admired, but as a rule they never get married. Suspicious people always get what they are looking for. Women love strength in a man — except when they get it. Those who are slow to wrath should make fast friends. It's bad for a girl to lose her good name, but they never seem to uund if they've got some fellows name to take instead. When a man appears to be listening attentively to your talk lie may be thinking of something to say. There are many well-red men among the Indians. Some people have all the luck. Sailors are driven from port to port, while we have to walk for our beer. Some men look on the wine when it is red just because they feel a little blue. It's strange, but nevertheless true, that the majority of our good habifs never get found out.
