MAUKU.

The Paluraahoe hall was filltd to oveifbwicg on Friday evening, on the occasion ot the concert given in aid of the Belgian Relief Fund. A long and excellent programme was gone through, most of the items being keenly appreciated by the audience. A cumber of little boys trained by Miss Hay gave a capital representation of the p.verfretsh "Ten Little Niggers," and later on in the evening convulsed the audience by their antics while trying to worry down buns suspended from strings, Masters Goldsworthy and Woleey being respectively first and second prize-winners. The entertaining items contributed by the Pukekohe Frivolity Entertainers evoked much applause, and Mr Ned Fort's admirably rendered sorga in character fairly brought dnwn the bouse. In spite of the announcement made by the chairman, Mr Henry, that encores would rot be allowed owing to the length of the programme, the audience in many cases insisted upon the return of the performers. During the evening tastefully-dressed little girls sold button-holes made up by Miss Bands, and later on a little booklet of patriotic poems, neatly printed and bound by the Franklin Printing and Publishing Go., Ltd,, was offered to the audience. The concert was followed by a dance to which a large number stayed. The Belgian Fund, it is anticipated, will benefit to the extent of at least £25. The following is the programme Opening chorus, Pukekohe Frivolity Entertainers; song, "The Trumpeter," Mr J. McKay; song, "Far, Far Away," Mr W. Guthrie; comic song, Mr S.
