ANOTHER MISREPRESENTATION.

A pamphlet is being issued in tupport of Mr Glass' candidature containing what is described as a lull report of speeches given by Mr Glass at Pukekuhe and Otahuhu, and over Mr Glass' signature on the bsck page of the document tbe following statement appears—"This speech is circulated in its present form because the 'Herald' refuses to report my meetings fairly and the Tukekohe Times' is now under the Reform banner."

The inference of the latter part of the statement in question is that Mr Glass is unable to get a report of bis meetings in this psper and this is an insinuation to which we give an absolute denial. As a matter of fact Mr Glass made his speech in Pukekohe on Thursday, November sth, whereas this journal did nit pa'is into the hands of tb? present proprietary company until Saturday, November 7th, or a day later than the issue succeeding tbe date of Mr Glass' speech. In our issue of tbe following Tuesday, November 10th, we nevertheless gave a fairly lengthy and impartial Fummary of Mr Glass' speech, and the candidate was further verbally invited by the present Editor to supply tenons of his country meetings, which he has refrained from doing. As to the suggestion that tbe "limes" has become an organ of tbe Reform party we again assert that the paper maintains and will maintain a perfectly independent attitude in political ma'ters, and if wc fail to sec that Mr Glass personally would make a more desirable member for the Electorate than Mr Massey wc are simply in accord thsreby with tbe views of many Liberal electors in Franklin, who, hoping that Sir Joseph Ward wiil gain the ascendancy in Parliament, yet find themselves unable to assist him by endorsing the candidature of Mr Glass. We would further remark for Mr Glass' information that tbe list of shareholders of the company claiming proprietorship of this paper iccludea the names of several prominent Liberals of the Franklin Electorate.
