Proposals have been forwarded t) the Public Works Department for works proposed to he carried out under the 1914-1915 Estimates—viz., forming and culverting three portions of the Pukekohe to Aka Aka road, via Shipherd's, and metalling same.

For forming and metalling portion of the Pukekohe Bast road, near school.

For forming and metalling portion of the Pukekohe to Tuakau road, at McFarland's. Other works have been laid out and engineering surveys completed, proposals for which will be forwarded to the Public Works Department as speedily as possible. REQUEST FROM T. LOCKIE, WAIPIPI. At last meeting Mr Lockie wrote asking that the fence on road leading from the Main Waiuku-Awhitu road to Needles be shifted into proper alignment. On inspection I found that the property owner adjoining had done the necessary work since the date of letter received. WORK DONE AT CREAMERY, TUAKAU.

I would respectfully point out that an account was forwarded to the Dairy Association fur £4O, being half cost of spawls and metal laid down in front of the creamery at l'uakau. Before this work was undertaken it was understood that the Association would bear half the cost Up to the present this has not been done. I would suggest that further steps be taken in the matter.

PRICE AND ARARIMU DEVIATION.

Permission baa been received from the Public Works Department to expend the available grant for the above deviation on the present road as suggested by me in a previous report.

The general surface work throughout the county has been carried out satisfactorily during the month. Other matters left to me for report and attention will be attended to at the earliest opportunity. DISCUSSION.

Cr Motion referred to the matter of the claim of £4O made on the Dairy Association as mentioned in the engineer's report, and stated that the Association's manager, Mr Pacey, had not contemplated the payment of such a large sum when agreeing to contribute half the coat. The whole width of the toad bad been metalled instead of only the immediate vicinity of the creamery, and it seemed hardly fair to expect the association to pay a half-share of the extended work.—lt was decided to ascertain from Mr Fulton, the late member for the riding, the terms of the agreement for payment he had made with Mr Pacey. The report was then adopted.
