A KISS AND ITS SEQUEL.
The erst of a kiss was assessed by Mr S. E. McCarthy, S. M., at the Napier Court on Tuesday at £lO 17s fid. The dcci ioi was the outcome of a chirge < f asaaull laid against Chat lea ft ells by Margaret Heron. Counsel fur the defendant pleaded guilty, ar.d said the defendant had b:en ha:d pressed financially and much wjrried, ard had taken to d irk, the assault being the outcome. Defendau had since apologised to the woman. Counsel for Mrs Heron sail 'he case was moie s'rioup, the kissing occurring several times. Default was tiAcd at two months' imprisonment, and defendant was allowed tj pay the line at the rate of £2 per month.
