GENERAL. | Cr Lyons apoke about the thirds that were available for the Koheroa road; the Mercer road alao had some thirds to spend. This road was the boundary between the old Mercer road district and the Pokeno road district.—The engineer is to prepare a scheme for the expenditure of these monies. Cr Fulton asked if Mr J. G. Rutherford had paid anything towards the road through his place, and the clerk replied: £2O. Cr Fulton then moved that the clerk write to Mr Rutherford and ask him now to pay in the full amount as the work could not be financed under the present circumstances.— Cariied. Ci Lyons said that Mr Pope had ertcted a telephone across a county roaa at the required height, and asked approval of this and permission to put a water-pipe across.—Granted. ISr Fulton muved, That it be a recommendation to the incoming Council that a conference be held between the RBglan and Franklin county representatives to see if the Beach road cannot be completed. Subject to the engineer's approval permission was given to Mr Litchfield, Waiau Pa, to put a drain across a road. Cr Lyons said that some planks were broken at Dean's bridge, near tha eld Queen's Reduubt. He wanted the engineer to inspect it. He also referred to another bridge which he himself had repaired. The Mercer cemetery fence also needed reinstating bo cs to keep off straying stock. Cr Campbell fully explained what he bad done regarding certain Hunua matters which had been referred to him at the previous meetirg. Cr Flanagan mentioned the matter of the etone-crusher. Jt was decided to keep the crusher going until next meeting, at least. Cr Renall explained at length all afcout the Awhitu merging, but he could not get Messrs A. Morrison, G. R. Irwin and J. G. Hamilton to verify their oljectionp. He moved, That the merging b3 advertised in accordance with the Act. —Carrie^ l . "Seeing that Pratt's hill deviation lean was carried unanimously," said Cr Flanagan, "I will move that the clerk write to the Advances to Local Bodies Office asking if the required money is available and upon what terms."—Carried. Cr Lyons said they had put down some new metal in Pokeno Valley. Owing to the hot weather this was not consolidating and they had some difficulty in getting along. He asked that the engineer be insttucted to have this metal blinded with some rotten rock that was available.—Carried. Being the final meeting of the Council as at present constituted come lareweils were tendered, good wishes were expressed, and compliments were exchanged upon the good work done.
