Mr J. IS. de Montalk has sold Mrs Christy's boarding house business to Mr Hawes, of Kariotahi. The funeral of the late Mr J. M. McDonald, ot Maiora, which took place at Waiuku cemetery, was largely attended, settlers trom a wide area showing their sympathy and esteem. Tho deceased wqb a very old resident of Waiuku district, and was well-known and highly respected. He leaves a wife and a grown-up family to moura their lo^s.
