THE PUBLIC HALL
In reference to the many enquiries as to when Wuiuku is to have a modern aud more citable public hall there seems every prospect of something being done shortly. The trustees have had an architect's estimate for a new hall ' under consideration, but before any- • thing definite could be proceeded f with certain legal difficulties in r connection with the site had to be s settled. This question wa9 taken in hand and arrangements ma le for the deed of gift to be altered by ' "conveying '' the bito back to the donor and then re-conveying to the trustees. Until the legal process refened to is completed nothing ) further can be done. We learn , that the trustees are anxious to get improved h'rill accommodation for Waiuku and are doing their best in the matter. The present hall accommodalii n is entirely inadequate and inellicient for j nearly all the functions held there, and it will be a great boon when a substantial and up-to-date building is available. l'he hall committee notify by advertisement thai people who engage the hall must pay in advance in iiccordani'e with the rulcf, this rnnrso driving been decided on by ' reason of losses mo! with.
