AKA AKA DRAINAGE BOARD
" The monthly meeting o£ the above Board was heltl at Waiuku last Saturday; present—Messrs G. Hull, I chairman, Jas. Wallers, R. Hudson, S. P. Henry, and E. T. Bent. The resolution passed at last meeting fixing the rates at Id, Jd and $d respectively in the areas according to classification, the fourth area being exempt, was confirmed. It was stated that complaints had been made about the condition of the eastern drain at the lop end. The clerk said the Board had just spent £l2 in the locality mentiored and the drain could not be very bad. Members thought the new implement for drain clearing would soon be available and attention could then be given to this particular portion. It was decided that the clerk notify those who had not paid their rates to pay forthwith. Mr -Hudson pointed out that as there had rot been much rain lately it wa9 an oppostur.e tirr.e to go ahead wi h the deepening cf the easte.n drain. The chairman ard Mr Bent pointed out that a number of | laces were gettiig in a bad condition and something would have to be done. The Board then co- sidered the plan of the proposed implement for clearirg the drains ti see if any improvement ould be suggested b fore the implement was completed, e.nd various alterations were arranged. The iinaiuial report from last meeting showed receipts £ll 18s 9d\ credit balance £lB 2s 7d, accounts £:)0 Is -id, and the general account was £l7 overdrawn.
