A LAiu.E deputation of the temperperance party in Raglan electorate waited on Mr Wesley Spragg at Hamilton the other evening and asked him to allow himself to be nominated as a candidate in the No-License inteiests for the Raglan seat. The deriutation pointed out that it was not particular what politics Mr Spragg represented, as they wero prepared to sink party politics to the temperance principle. Mr Spragg, in reply, indicated in effect that he could best serve the of temperance by eschewing party politics and remaining president of tho New Zaaland Alliauce. Ho had do desire to enter the political arena, and therefore declined.
