WHANGARATA CREAMERY.

The Top Price Being Paid. Our Whangavata corrospoadont writes : The local creamery has been closed for a month now and as far as we can ascertain home separation is giving entire satisfaction I) those who have adopted that method of procuring protit, from their milk product. One thing is <juite certain the carting is much lighter and the price is much higher than has usually been paid here when the creamery was running. The milk suppliers of Tuakau are amazed and not a little annoyed that Whangarata is being paid a better price for its butter-fat, so much so that the Association has thought it expedient to issue a circular offering the suppliers the sume price as Wbangarata for their cream if delivered at Whangavata railway station. This is as it should be, as it is recognised that Whangarata is the coming district. The Tuakau Progressive League should now consider tite advisability of removing the township a little neaier the Whangaratast'itioii. The good people of Tuakau have been agitating for an ovoihoid bridge for years but it seems as far off as ever. Whangarata has the oveihead bridge and as it is a foregone conclusion that the butter-fat will come in for the big price—as a natural sequence the township should Ciiiuo this way ! The dairy herds aro looking veil for the season, and if the weather does not continue sj lacking in moisture as last mouth the outlook is most promising for the farmers as there is a good supply of feed so far. Last Saturday week several of our resident farmers attended Fukekoho cattle sale from which several very choice animals wore brought into the district, the pick of the yards falling to Mr Lawrence's bid, in a fashionably bred flolstein bull, this breed seemingly having superseded in favour the one-time much sought after Jersev.
