CHURCH SERVICES The services of the Anglican ;iud Presbyterian Chinches were well attended and much appreciated. The former was conducted by the | Rev. Mr Wyatt, of Rama Ramn, I who spoilt a few days' visiting in the 1 district. The latter was a home ! mission service, tho preacher being ! the Rev. Robert lnglis, M.A., of | Knox Church, Auckland, who de- | livored an eloquent and appropriate | sermon. LOCAL. ' The piano fund social was a very j enjoyablo one, although the woather : was unfortunately wet and stormy. All tho ladies and gentlemen conj cerncd in its success had worked with J a will and the rosult was a gaily ; decorated hall, a perfect floor for | dancing, a dainty supper and a rej cord attendance, a party of friends from town swelling the number, j The button-holes kindly prepared !by Mrs Lipscombe suld like hot I cakes and added a good sum to tho ' fund. During the evening Mr Lipsj combe paid a tribute of praise to Mr J Reid, the honorary pianist, and the j company cordially endorsed his ! words. Extras wore played by Misses Hatty, Urjulniit and Molloy, ! and the evouing camo to an end all too soon.
