TUAKAU TOWN BOARD.

"We nothing extenuate, nor set down aught in malice

The keen interest taken in the election of the first Tuakau Town Board gives indication of the public spirit which animates this township. The result must be highly satisfactory to the Progressives. Six out of seven of the " ticket" were elected by big majorities. This result we regard as an evidence of the fact that the people are grateful for the splendid services which the Progressive League members, without money and without price, have rendered to Tuakau. It was phasing to notice the good spirit which prevailed throughout the light, which was strenuous but without bitterness. We heartily congratulate the seven members upon their election. At the same time we must not forget that the unsuccessful candidates by otlering themselves set a laudable example and did a good eel vice to the community. Tuakau has now advanced another step on its forward march in civic life. We wish the Board and the district all prosperity. TIIE WAII'KU BOARD.
