Notice is hereby given that the following Special Order was made at a special meeting of the Franklin County Council held on THURSDAY, September •>rd, 1914, and W'" be conlirmed at thejnext ordinary meeting of the Councl to be held on THURSDAY, October Ist, 1914. WHEREAS it is provided by subsection 1 of Section 3 of "The Counties Amendment Act, 1913" that the boundaries of any two or more contiguous counties may from t"ne to time be altered by 'he Governor by Proclamation ; and it is fi" flier provided by Sub-section 2 of the said Section 3 th at where the pmcipal Act is in force in any one or more of the counties the boundaries whereof are proposed to be altered, a Proclamation UDder the said Section 3 may be made in accordance with a resolution proposing the alteration passed by the Council of each of such counties AND WHEREAS "The Counties Act, 1908 " being "the principal Act" referred to in the said Subsection 2 of Section 3 is in force in the County of Manukau and the County of Franklin respectively AND WHEREAS the respective Councils of the County of Manukau and of the County of Franklin liavo agreed to alter tho boundaries of the said counties respectively as appears by the said resolution AND WHEREAS the proposed alteration of the said boundaries does not affect the boundaries of any existing Road District or Town District and in pursuance of such agreement the Franklin County Council hereby resolves by way of Special Order as follows

1. That tho boundaries of tlis Franklin County bo altered by excluding therefrom the land described in the First Schodule hereto. 2. That the boundaries of the Franklin County as so altered shall be as described in tho Second Schedule hereto. o. That a petition bo presented to His Excellency tho Governor pursuant to the said Sub-sections 1 and 2 of Section 3 praying that the boundaries of the Franklin County be altered as aforesaid. FIEST SCHEDULE. Aiea proposed to be withdrawn from the County of Franklin. All that area in the Auckland Land District bounded towards the northeast generally by the sea from tho northern-most corner of Waitawa Block to the Puwhenua stream; towards the south generally by the Wharekawa No. 5 Block, to the eastern boundary of Allotment No. 102 Otau Parish ; towards the west generally by the last-mentioned Allotment and Allotment 101 and 100 of the aforesaid Parish : again towards the south generally by the last-mentioned Allotment and by the road forming its northern boundary by Allotments 97a, 07, 80, 90, 67 and 2 of the aforesaid Parish, and by the Wairoa river to the southernmost corner of Allotment 01 of the said Parish; towards the north generally by tho last-mentioned Allotment and tho road forming its eastern boundary and Allotment 85 of the same Parish; and towards the west generally by the last-men-tioned Allotment and Allotments 84 and 82 of the aforesaid Parish, by Mataitai No 6 Block, by Allotment No 105, and the road forming the north-western boundaries of Allotments 74a and 74b, to tho western boundary of Kiripaka Block and by the western boundaries of that Block and Te Kawakawa No. 2, Te Kawakawa, and Waitawa Blocks to tho place of commencement. SECOND SCHEDULE. Proposed Boundary of County of Franklin. All that area in the Auckland Land District bounded towards the north generally by the Mantikau harbour from tile South Head of that harbour to the Pahurehure river: thence by that river to tho southwestern corner of Papakura Town District, as described in New Zealand Gazette No. (19, of the 17th August, 1882; thence by the said town district to tho north-eastern coiner of Allotmont No. 1 <», lverikeri settlement; thence across a road, and by Allotments Nos. 28, 29, ;'><), 228, 3:3, 34 and 171, Hunua Parish, to the road forming' the south-eastern boundary of the last-mentioned Allotment: thence bv that road to Allotment 170, thence by that Allotment to the road reserve on its northeastern boundaiy; thence by a line through the said reserve to the middle of the road forming the southern boundary of Allotment No. 172; thence by a line along tho middle of that road and tho road forming the south-eastern boundaries of Allotments Nos. 172, 173 and 171 Hunua Parish, to a point opposite the westernmost corner of Allotment No. 11;}, thence by a right lino to tho westernmost corner of tho said allotment No. 113, and by that allotment to tho Wairoa river : ; thence by that river to a point opj posito the north-western corner of Allotment No. 2, Otau Parish: i thonco across tho Wairoa river, and ; by Allotments Nos.
