N.Z. FARMERS' UNION.

The Pukekohe Branch. A meeting of the above was hold in the Borough Chambors 011 Saturl day- * It was resolved to support the Rama Rama branch in its endeavour to secure an earlier stock train to the Westfield market. A letter was received from the Opotiki branch urging a speedier construction of the East Coast railway ; also that sheep should be sold by weight, and that sacks should be allowed for in produce. It was decided to support the Opotiki branch in all these matters. A lot of correspondence was road from the Provincial office dealing with procuring waggons for the Defence Department and the offering of spare land to the Union. A motion was passed congratulating Major Scholield on his recent promotion and the secretary was instructed to forward it. The following letter has been received by the secretary Pukekohe branch Farmers' Union from the Provincial Secretary : —" I beg to inform you that the waggons numbered 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 and 13 were accepted for transport service, but no harness, it not being regulation pattern. This will be returned in due course, together with a cheque in settlement for the waggons."
