SCHOOL COMMITTEE.
The quarterly mseting of th. c mrnittee of the Mauku school was held in the schoclreom on Mo evening. The chairman, Mr E. Gillon, presided ard all irembers were present.

It wr.s resolved lo call t neiers f. r cleir.i g the school for the e suing year The c! airm n reported that he had interviews the Board's architect regarding a new shelter shed, outbuildings, step', e'e , as well as repairing the old p?rtinn of the school, and after havirg inspected the requirements he had recommended that they wer;> necessary and the work had now teen comple cd. The chairman's action was approved.
It was resolved to hold a social in the schoolroom early in September to celebrate the openirg of the new additions.
The sec.etary was instiucted to write a letter of thanks 'o the chairman of the Board of Education and to Mr C. T. Barribali, acknowledging the thorough manrer in which the school and new buildings had been fitted up.
