REPRESENTATIVE RUGBY.
MANUKAU 17, PUKEKOHE 3. In the senior representative match on Saturday, Manukaj defeated Pukekohe by 17 points (3 tries, one converted and 2 penalty goals) to 3 (a try). In spits of the heavy rain the ground was in good order and the game was fast and interesting. At intervals both teams brought off some good passiig rushes. The Pukrkohe side were without the services of Hwata and Rogers, and the absenca of the Mauku half proved a severa handicap. The game was more even than the scores would indicate, but the losers failed to take advantage of several opportunities that came their way. Manukau were the heavier forward pack and in the scrum had the advantage, but in the loose the Pukekohe forwards more than held their own. In the backs the respective sides were even.
JUNIOR RfJPS. The junior representative match, Pukekohe versus Manukau, was phyed at Pukekohe on Saturday, and ended in a win tor the latter by 5 points to nil. The ground was in a very sloppy condition. Heavy showers of rain in the first half spoilt the game from an onlooker's point of view, and the second half was nothing but a mud scramble. The Manukau team proved a much better combination than the local men, and had it bsen a dry day Manukau would probably have put up a substantial score against their opponents. Wardcll scored the try for the winners, Smith converting. Mr B. H. Andr.w had control of the game.
