AUCKLAND PRODUCE MARKETS Mr J. Jones, auctioneer, Victoria and Lome streets, Auckland, reports:— The market generally this week has been steady an J values ruled about the fame as last week, though appks were much firmer. Poultry was penned in large numbers and prices for good birds were firmer. Pullets are in strorg demand. Good conditioned hets and roosters are selling better. Pigs were in short supply and pi ices firmed contiderally. Local potatoes are slow of sales and values are low. Swedes and punpkins are a glut on the market and prices are very low. We would suggest to clients that they hold for a tew weeks. Cheese, bacon, fresh eggs and honey is meeting with strong competition Poultry, 1650 penned—Hens, prime Is lCd to 2s 2d, special birds up to 4s 3d, hers ordinary Is 7d to Is 9d. Ducks, 2s to 3s. Roosters, prime 3s 6d to 4s sd, good 3s to 3s 4d, others 2s to 2* 9d. Geese, 4s. Turkeys, gobblers 6s to lis, hens 3s 9d to 6s.
Pigs, 6s 6d to 18s 6d, demand stronger.
Southern potatoes £5 to £5 10s, local £2 to £3. Swedes £1 10s, pumpkins £2 10s to £3 ss, red carrots £3 10s, Pie and citrtn melons £3 to £4 10s, kumaras Ts to 8s 6i, onions £4 to £6 5-, picklers 8s to 9s 6d. Maize 3s lid to 4s sd, wheat 43 to 4s lOd, oats 2s 101, Algerian seed 3s 7d, bran £4 10s, sharps £7 ss, rice meal £5, chad' £5 to £5 10s.
