BUCKLAND.

THE ANGLICAN CHURCH.

The annual meeting of parishioners was held in Sr. Paul's Anglican Church, the vicar, Rev. F. B. Dobson, presiding. The report stated that a larger add more regular attendance had been maintained during the year than hitherto, while the finances of the church were on a «most satisfactory footing, the general offertories and subscriptions to the stipend fund showing increases, while a combined effort made by the vestry and the Ladies' Guild had resulted in the substantial sum of £9G being raised. With this sum a powerful acetylene gas plant had been procured and installed in the church, and a large new organ purchased. Special mention was made of the good work accomplished by the Ladies' Guild. The balance sheet of the church showed a credit balance in bank of £2 Ss 3d. The vicar reappointed Mr H. W. Driver as vicar's warden, and Mr S. Harper was re-elected people's warden. The following were elected members of the vestry—Messrs K. Johnson, H. Wilcox, A. Bluck, H. Todd, W. J. Jeiferis, ti. H. I). Wily, W. V. Davy, J. Harper, T. Walker, G. Sundry, J. WUcjx, and J. Walker. Messrs W. V. Davy and 11. W. driver were appointed delegates to the central vestry for the parochial district of Pukekohe, and the latter was re-elected secretary and treasurer of the churcb.

Under the superintendency of Mr Herbert Todd, assisted by the Misses Jefferis and L. Johnston, the Anglican Sunday school has made steady progress during the year. The annual distribution of prizes took place at a special service conducted by the vicar on Sunday afternoon last. The following scholars were awarded prizes in the various claeses:-Girls: Iris Wright, Ivy Wilcox, Hazel Wilcox, Eva Harris, Una Wilv, Elsie Stuart, Itia Wily, Polly Todd, Edna Wiight, Nellie Todd, Olive McConachie, Joan McConachie, Veda Harris, Lizzie Blytb, Kuby Stayte. Alice Johns, Kathleen Figgot. Boys: Herbert Wily. Thomas Wilcox, Gordon Wilcox. Sidney Wilcox, Howard Jaroieson, Stewart Jamicson, Charlie Jamieson, Ernest Harris. Frank Church, Lionel Figgot, Eric Catheart, Ivan Cathcait, Basil King, and' Graham Hamilton. Special prizes for highest marks gained in their respective daßse* were also awarded to Folly Todd, Nellie Todd and Thomas Wilcox.
