The railway leases recently sold in King street will soon be the scene of building activity . Mr C. Roadley is calling for tenders for the erection of a shop on his ocction, Messrs E. Mahony and Son are having plans prepared lor a ningle story ret of offices. Mr J. A. Comrie, whp has eccurcd the lease of the site occupied for many years by Mr W. Maxwell, is busy pulling down the old building and making preparations for the erection of up-to-date premises. Since the borough by-laws do not provide for a standard" verandah, it would be a big improvement if the lessees of these sections could agree to have all the verandahß of a uniform pattern. Such a course would tend to materially improve the appeprance of this block.
