Lhe Snle of Work held i.i aid of the new Anglican church at Waipipi concluded on Saturday night, and was very successful. A sum of over £7O was realised, besides a considerable amou ,t already in hand as donation?. The building will be gone on with speedily, now that the section of land has b=en cleared and ploughed. THE WATERWAYS COMMISSION. It is understood that the Inland Waterways and Canal CommiSbion visited Waiuku on Sunday and paid a brief visit to the route of the nroposed canal just to get an idea of their preliminary work of investigation.
