PAPARATA.

FAREWELL TO MU G. A. WORSLEY. Fully 100 persona were packed into the schoolroom on Friday evening in order to bid farewell to Mr George A. Worsley and his wife, who, after 2o years residence in the schoolhouse, are leaving on June Ist for Otonga, in the Whangarei district. The Rev. George Frost, who presided, referred to the long and successful work accomplished by the guest of the evening as schoolmaster, to his many social qualities as a friend, to the excellent service rendered to the church as its organist, Sunday school superintendent and steward; tha splendid qualities of Mrs Worsley in seconding all her husband's efforts for the good of her neighbours were also fittingly commented upon by the speaker. Mr Shaw, of Ararimu, as an eld scholar, also made feeling reference to the less the district would sustain by the removal of Mr and Mrs Worsley. The chairman of the School Committee, Mr F. Wootten, in the name of a large number of subscribers, presented Mrs Worsley with a silver tray, tuitably inscribed, en which were placed a tea-pot, cream-jug and sugar-basin; and to Mr Wurßley a silver-mounted walking stick.

Both recipients suitably responded to the remarks made, and reminded their friends of the large place Paparata will always have in their heaits. During the evening sungs were sung by Mrs Landon, Messrs Burton, U. Wootten and T. Donovan; recitations were given bv Mr J. Shaw acd a number of scholars. Atter the refreshments were partaken of to the accompaniment of phonograph selections on Mr P Wyatt's instrument, "God Be With You Till We Meet Again'" was sung, and the chairman pronounced the Benediction.
