LOAN PROPOSALS.

Fop Pukekohe Borough. To Be Submitted to Ratepayers. There were present at Wednesday night's meeting of the Pukekohe Borough Couccil: The Mayor (Mr C. K. Lawrie), Crs Beatty, Comrie, Hamilton, Pollock, Hurley, Hubbard a'd McGough. The meeting was convened for the purpose of considering the loan proposals and the business was taken in committee. THE DRAINAGE PROPOSALS. It was moved by Cr Lomri?, seconded by the Mayor, That a poll be taken over the sperial drainage area for a loan of £BSOO to carry out Mr Gannon's drainage scheme. This was carried unanimously. HOOSE'S BUSH. Cr Comrie moved and Cr Hamilton seconded, That a poll be taken over the whole borough for a loan of £6OO for the purchase of this bush, the purchase to be contingent upon the Government grantir.g a subsidy of £SOO towards the purchase. This was carritd unanimously. FIRE BRIGADE. Cr Comrie moved, and Mr Pollock seconded, That a lean of £SOO be taken over the whole borough for the purpose of equipping the brigade. Ihe original proposal was for £7OO, but the Council decided to cut out tfce projected tire alarm circuit and to substitute an extra fire bell, thus effecting a saving of £2OO. Carried unanimously.
