N.Z. LOAN AND MERCANTILE AGENCY CO. At the Pukekohe yards on Monday, we held our first dairy sale of the season. There was a fair yarding and almost everything was sold. Best :ows and heifers, close to profit, sold at from £8 10s to £lO, others £5 to £8; cows to calve in July and August, £5 to £7 17s 6d; bulls, £3 to £7 10s. On 'luesday, at Pukekohe yards, we held our usual monthly sale. We had an exceptionally large muster of stock, 400 odd grown steers were yarded, and showed both quality, breeding and condition. Bidding was brisk and prices for all classes of stock was better. Three to four-year-old steers sold from £7 to £9 ss; 256 steers from Wairamarama averaged £8 5s 6d; two to three-year-old steers, £4 10s to £6 15s; yearling to 18-months steers, £3 5s to £4 7s 6d; empty cows, £3 10s to £5 ss; heifers, £3 to £4 10s; good steers, calves £2 5s to £3 t>3, others 33s to £2 2s; calves, mixed sexes, 20s to 375. Bull?, £3 10s to £8 10s. Dairy cows and heifers sold at fully Monday rates. Beef, of which 133 head were yarded, sold at fully Westfield rates. bUCKLANI) AND SONS. On Monday we held a clearance sale at Mr J. E. Crook's, Bombay. There was a large attendance and satisfactory prices were realised. Ihe dairy cows and heifers brought from £4 10s to £7 15s; yearlings, £3 to £3 ss; bay mare and foal, £22; trap mare, £23; aged horses, £5 to £8; sows with litters, £3 5s to £4; porkers, £1 12* to £1 14s.
