Every lodge member is requested to roll up." Mr E. Page, S.M., presided over the sitting of the Magistrate's Court in Pukekohe on Thursday, as Mr F. V. Frazer, S.M., is relieving Mr Cutten, S.M. The next sitting of the Court, on the 21st inst., will be presided over by J.'sF. The handsome new St. Patrick's Presbytery, Pukekohe, is to be formally opened and receive the solemn blessing of his Lordship, Bishop Cleary, on Sunday afternoon next at 3 o'clock. Ihe general public are cordially invited to be present. Technical classes will start again in Pukekohe on Monday, and the attention of intending pupils is drawn to the list of classes and fees advertised. This year a class in wood work for adults is being held and the experiences narrated in our correspondence column by Mr B. H. Ardrew, one of last year's pupils, will, we hope, induce other residents to lake advantage of the opportunity. Intending pupils should present themselves to bo enrolled on the nights set down for their classes. The compulsory regulations will be enforced more strictly this year than last. When Cr Hubbard moved at the Borough Council meeting on Wednesday night that the Council meet during the winter months at 7 instead of 8 o'clock, Cr Hamilton said they had tried that before but they did not get home any earlier. "It's now 10.15. Give me a guarantee that if you meet at 7 o'clock I'll get home at 9.15 and I'll vole tor it," that councillor added. Cr Hubbard said they could easily get over that by haviFg a closing hour, say 10 o'clock, after which no new business could be taken." Why pot make it 9 o'clock? The business of the Council would not suffer. The brethren of Lodge Excelsior held a euchre party and dance in the Oddfelluws' Hall last nignt and a very pleasant evening was spent. The euchre prizes were won by the following ladies and gentlemen:— First prizes, Mrs C. Penny and Mr Beaton; booby prizes, Miss Kimber ard Mr J. Black. The ladies provided supper and after supper an enjoyable dance was held. Music was supplied by Misses Pulleng, Blake and Mrs Andrew. The annual meeting of the Advisory Technical School Committee was held last night. Messrs Towcson, Flavell and Bellbouse were appointed members of the committee and Mr Cargill was elected as chairman, Mr Roadley as secretary, and ths chairman, secretary • and Mr Comrie as the executive. Mr Ridings was appointed teacher of 1 the girls' English and arithmetic classes in the place of Miss Freeman who on account of ill-health is unable to take up the duties. It was decided to hold a cookery dennon stration on Monday, 18th inst. Other routine business in connection w."i the classes was transacted. About eightten attended a meeting held on Tuesday evening to form a ladies hockey dub for Pukekohe. Mrs Wake va? appointed , president vice presidents.
