FIRST PAGE. At the Borough Council. Tuakau; some interesting reminiscences. FOURTH PAGE. The Flower Show; additional de°criptive report

It is reported that Mr D. Dalton, of Pukekohe, who is in the Auckland hospital, where he successfully underwent an operation for a Btomacb trouble, is improving and expects to be home again shortly. At the Premier hall on Wednesday night, during the picture performance, the Mayor, Mr C. K. Lawrie, will present to the members of the fire brigade the prizeH won at Saturday's competitions. An exhibitor of prize onions at the Pukekohe District Horticultural Society's show writes complaining of them having been stolen. Be also suggests that at future shows the committee should wire-net the exhibits and supervise the delivery of the same to their rightful owners.

In the course of bis remarks whilst proposing the toast of the secretary at the Waiuku Cricket Club's dinner, Mr R. J. Harris said that the secretary of a cricket club held a rather unenviable position. If the team did not all turn up the secretary was blamed; if they turned up but lost the match it waß the secretary's fault; and if they won well, th'ea they praised themselves, and forgot the secretary! Tha church parade of Oddfellows on Sunday was a great success. Including the band of 20 strong there were eome 70 members of the lodge in attendance. The parade was organised by the Loyal Pukekohe Lodge, 8063, M.U , 1.0.0. F., and the service attended this year was at St. An:lrcVs, Pukekohe, conducted by the Kev. F. B. Dobson. It wa3 the beat lodge turn-out that has ever taken place in Pukekohe. Mr Cahill kindly came down to conduct the band and Mr C. M. Wright acted as sergeant. After the -service about 40 guests had dinner at the Pukekohe hotel where a sumptuous repast was spread. Bro. J. H. Keith, N.G., who presided, took occasion to thank the band for their assistance, the Kev, F. B. Dobßon for his holy offices and the host and hostess for their entertainment. The Kev. F. B. Dobson replied and Mr Wright acknowledged the tribute accorded to the band. The gathering marked still another milestone in the onward march of Oddfellowship.
