PUBLIC OPINION.
A COLUMN FOR THE PEOPLE
The Mayoral Election.
1 TO THE EDITOR. |
Sir, —Befurs many days have gone by, the people cf this town will be called upon to elect two Councillors and a Mayor. I don't know how many candidate* are in the field for th 3 vacancy on tha Council, tut I understand there are two candidates for the Mayoralty. Now, Sir, very few people know the views and idess of these man in regard to municipal matters in general, and consequently there is, o: may be, a considerable lack of interest in this coming election. I would suggest that the candidates coma out on the public platform and ttll us what they stand for. It is only reasonable that electors should know the views of every candidate who seeks election as Councillor or Chief Magistrate cf a borough.—l am, etc., F. W. MOUNTJOY. Pukekohe, April 20tb.
