PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH.

Special services were held in the Tuakau Presbyterian Church on Sunday evening in connection with the opening of the Lew organ. The Rev. W. Butterworth presided, and took as his subject '"lhe Heart's Melody," speakirg in terms most appropriate to the occasion. Mr VV. H. Northmore presided at tha organ and Miss Gady, who is staying in the district on a visit from Australia, was soloist, giving the congregation attending a beautt'ul interpretation of the wellknown sacred song "The Star of Bethlehem." THE ORGAN. The organ ia one of the latest Kahn model*, new cathedral organ style M, in solid white oak case, finished golden oak. It is the actual instrument that waa awarded lirst for organs in the Auckland exhibition. Ihe organ can be operated by loot pedals apart from the blow lever, it desired. Its compass ia 5 octaves F to F, and is operated by 19 etups. In addition, it is fitted with grand organ knee swells and qualifying tubes. The Kahn organ stops are arranged as follows :- Ba=s: Pipe diapason Bft. dolce Bft, viola 4ft, wald (lute 4ft, Highland pipe 2ft, harp ;colian 2ft. sub bass 16ft, fjrte baas coupler. Treble: Pipe diapason Pft, dolce 3ft, viula 4ft, wald flute 4ft, violoncello 16ft, cremona J6ft, vox Bngelica Bft, grand solo, 4ft and 16ft, treble coupler, vox jubilante. It is saf<; tj siy in view of the recent exhibition awards that the Katin new cathedral organ is the finest instrument of its kind in New Zealand, and easily surpasses in beauty of tone moderately priced pipe organs.
