THE PRIME MINISTER.
Visit To Pukekohe. On Saturday, the second day of the franklin A. and P. Society's Show, the Rt. Hon. W. F. MaEsey, P.C., was a visitor to Pukekohe. He received several deputations from the Pukekohe Borough Council and the Chamber of Commerce, the subjects of which we will deal with later. The Prime Minister was entertained at luncheon by the show committee, his health being proposed by the president, Mr Wylie. Mr Massey'a reply was appropriate. During the afternoon Mr Maesey motored out to see Mr C. Knott, a very old resident of Patumahoe, who is ill. On Saturday morning the Prime Minister was shown over the new County Council buildings by the chairman, Mr Motion. Mr Massey warmly approved them and congratulated the Council and the ratepayers upon having built so substantial a place which will prove cheapest in the long run. "I was admiring your office as I came along,' said the Prime Minister to the Editor of the "Times." We had pleasure in showing him through the building and Mr Ma'sey was struck with the progress the paper has made. "Keep the 'Times' going." was his final call in the evening es his train steamed out from the railway station. Commenting upon the photographic illustrations in the "Times" Mr Thompson, private secretary to the Prime Minister and an old pressman, said the reproductions were as good as any he had seen in any other New Zealand newspaper, and better than most.
