FIRST DAY'S PROCEEDINGS.
JUDGING WELL ADVANCED To-day witnesses the opening day of the twenty-ninth fixture of the Franklin A. and P. Society, whose shows are held in Pukekohe. The principal officers of the Society are:—

Treasurer: Mr H. Bockett.
Secretary, Mr J. M. Baxter. During this week there has been very great pctivity on the Showgrounds, which activity culminated to-day by the streaming arrivals of exhibits of every kind. The stewards had worked very hard and to-day everything was in order for the reception of the incoming entries The judges got promptly to work and by the time of our going to press their work was well advanced. It would have teen posuble to get some ,of the results in to-day's but we decided to have the full prize-list in Tuesday's issue, so that it may be kept as a complete record. PEOPLE'S DAY. To-morrow (Saturday) will be People's Day, which is, of course, the spectacular dav of the Show. It is the day for the always fascinating ring events, and as all the pen awards will have been made visitors may examine [the prize-winners at their leisure.
Mr T. R. Clow, of Papatoetoe, is exhibiting a couple of Daisy Windmills and will be pleased to demonstrate their advantages to visitors to the show.
Mesßrs Yates and Co. have an attractive exhibit. Dairy faimers should make a special point of inspecting the Anker-Holth cresm ceparatorp. A very interestng exhibit is the Pennsylvania ihresher, under the charge of Mr N. Ohlson, of Tuakau. This is a combination of engine and thresher.
Mi John Knight, of Albany, is exhibiting the Ideal broadcast Manure, Grass and Seed Drill, which possesses many advantages. The Show Watermill is an entire novelty and is claimed to represent the last word in an up-to-date water supply. Adam Burges' exhibit is one which will particularly interest the farmers— especially potato growers—in this district. Farmers visiting the Show should not omit to inspect W. Koulstcn's exhibit of grass and clover seeds, manures, etc. This exhibit is in charge of Mr Andrew who has been handling seeds in Pukekohe for the past 14 years and is in a position to advise regarding the most suitable seeds and manures to use under local conditions. Included in this exhibit is a line collection of weed seeds and impurities commonly found in agricultural seeds. Farmers should take advantage of this opportunity of becoming familiar with their enemies.
The Treloar Milking Machine will again be in evidence and the sole district agent, Mr C. Kidd will be pleased to demonstrate its advantages to anybody.
