Settler's Wife Badly Injured.

On Friday a very serious accidpnt befel tlio wife of Mr Frank Mouldoy, at Puni. Mr Mouldoy was in tlio store thero making some purchases, his wife and two-yoar-old child being in tlio breaking-in sulky which was standing outside. Suddenly and without warning the horse began to kick and set off at a mad blot. It dashed into the fence and later ran over a log. Tho jolt lirit of all threw the baby out and presently Mrs Mouldcy was also thrown out and was unfortunately run ovct across the body. Very severe nal injuries were sustained. Assistance was promptly forthcoming and Dr Bronte was summoned. Tha injured lady's removal to the Auck. land hospital was ordered, Mrs H. Graham accompanying the patient to the city. Mrs Mouldey is only about 27 years of age. An operation was found to be necessary and very grave doubts were entertained as to the possibility of saving Mrs Mouldey's life, but word received yesterday evening was to the effect that soinc improvement iu the patient's condition had taken place.
