This season's harvest in Australia is expected to be one of the best experienced for many years. A visitor to lovercargill from Melbourne, in conversation with a reporter, stated that the farmers in the Commonwealth were very jubilant over the prospects, and it was confidently anticipated that the yield of wheat would be phenomenal. He approximately estimated the area under wheat ciops in Victoria at somethirg in the vi inity cf 3,000,000 acres, while that of New ISouth Wales would be atout 4,000,000 acres, the two States producing about 80,000,000 bushels of wheat.
