.#-. Settler Severely Injured. About three weeks ago Mr Sydney Boyd, of l'ukekohc Hijl, was badly gored by a Jersey bull and \i still ioniin«jil lo his bed. It appears that he waa cleaning up the Htoek yard and whilst bending down the charged him. lie was npped the groins and badly cut across the? left behind one of his knees. Fortunately, one of the bull's horns was broken, *o that whilst he waa struggling on iho gtound and beinjj gored whenever the longer horn Btruck the ground Mr IJoyd'a body waa in soma measure protected. An assistant drove tho infuriated animal oh", and it is aaid that if this help had not been so promptly forthcoming Mr Hoyd would inevitably have been killed, Although seriously Injured and otherwise suffering from a largo number of minor bruises, Mr Hoyd is to be congratulated upon having escaped, fatal injuries
