PUKEKAWA.

FAKtiWELL SOCIAL. A farewell social was given to Mr C. Free in the Pukekawa hall on Tuesday evening, on the occasion of his leaving the district. In spite of very unfavourable weather the gathering was large and representative. The evening took the form of a euchre party and dance. Alter the supper interval Mr Hawke, in a few well-chosen words, presented Mr Free with a handsome sulid leather travelling bag, bearing the inscription: "To Mr C. Free from his Pukekawa friends, 16/12/'13." Mr Free suitably responded. During the evening several musical items were rendered, fhe gathering did not disperse until the early hours.
