PUKEKOHE WEST ROAD BOARD.
The December Meeting.
Those present at Thursday's meeting of the Pukekohe West Board were —Messrs West (in the chair), Woods, Boase and Finlay. In reply to a telegram asking Mr Massey to remember Rifle Range road, for which a grant of £ 100 had been asked, the Prime Minister wired saying that this matter would have attention in connection with the Supplementary Estimates. Mr E. Crook, of Mount Eden, who had been in communication with the Board respecting the opening up of the Board's quarry near Puni, wrote saying that he could not put in a plant to quarry the metal as he was fully employed. But if the Board wanted i£ opened up he could perhaps do that, but the cost would have to be borne by the Board"—No further action was taken.
The tender of Hurley, Smith and Hogan, for carting metal aud scoria at 3s per yard to tho Ostrich Farm road, was accepted.
It was decided to ordor 200 yards metal from the gaol for Ostrich Farm road. Mr Boase was empowered to employ a team to get the road ready for the metal. The clerk was directed to hand over to the County Council tho loan monies that were allocated to Brown's road, Puni.
A number of road matters were dealt with and accounts passed for payment.
