The otiginal No. 1 school, which has been clawed fur years, is rather far away for most of them, and No. 2 schoul, besides being too far away, could bardly accommodate any ir.ore than tho3e at present attending it. KOAD WORK PROGRESSING. The work of forming and grading on the Drury-Waiuku road is proceeding raoidly now, and should be ' finished this season if all goes well. THE RABBIT PEST. The rabbit pest is considerably in evidence now, asd unfortunately at this time of the year poisoning fee res almost us;kss. Some of the settlers about here have had pretty good results with toxa during ether • seasons. Your correspondent has had tbs best results from dosing the vecmin well wich phosphorised pollard abeat February, as soon as the feed becomes dry, and again during fiosty weather in tbq winter.
