The weather in this district has lately been most unseasonable. Heavy and cold rains have fallen almost every night during the past week. This morning, by way of a change, it was hailing. Prizes won at the Pukekohe flower show are now payable at the office of the secretary, Mr F. E. Simpson, Pukekohe. The very good work that has lately been done on some of the borough footpaths suggests that a man should be permanently employed upon this work, at least during the coming summer season. Quite a number of people have expressed appreciation of the work already done—but there still remain many public footpaths in a disgraceful state. It is to be hoped that the surfaceman will not be taken off this very necessary job.
