The Telephone Exchange.

NEED FOR EX IRA ASSISTANCE

| TO THE EDITOR.!

Sir,—Without reflecting upon the efficiency of the post office staff, I feel that the time has arrived when an additional operator should be employed in thu telepone department, in order to atiaist the present s»aff in its effort to cope with the everincreasing work. Tf-.ere is a limit to the amount of attention that can be given to the telephone exchange by one operator and judging by the difficulty existing in receiving attention when using the telephone, either for local or outside communication, there is every indication that such a limit has been reached. In the rapid advancement of Pukekohe such important matters as prompt communication canr.ot be overlooked, and I wouiu respectfully suggest that the Chamber of Commerce take the matter in hand with a view to effecting an improvement. Thanking you for valuable space, I am, etc., SUBSCRIBER. Pukekohe, 11th November, 1913.
