THE CRICKET SEASON.

Last Year's Averages. The following; show the bowling and batting averages (all matches counted) of Pukekohe Cricket Club members for the last season : BATTING.

01 the four friendly matches played by the Club three were lost and one drawn in Pukekohe's favour. Eight association games were played, six being won, one lost and one drawn. Two games, married v. single, were played and each side won one match.

Manukau Cricket Association.

The annual meeting ol' the above Association was held in the Mauku hotel when the following,delegates were present: —Messrs E. C. Cufl (president), J. Goldsworihv, (vicepresident), W. Gr. Pleydell and W. Finlay (Mauku), E. Osbourne and,.T. Dromgool (Waiuku), and \V. Dazeley (Pukekohe). The secretary (Mr W. Finlay) presented the balance sheet which showed the receipts to be £o 0s od, expenses lis; credit balance, £4 9s od. This was unanimously adopted. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year Patron, Mr W. H. Warin ; president, Mr E. G. Cuff ; vice-presidents : Mr J. Groldsworthy, A. O. Woollett and E. Osbourne ; secretary, Mr Wm. Finlay. Mr Cuff and the Mauku delegates were desirous of having a change of presidents with the idea of giving other districts a turn but as no one could be persuaded to accept the position Mr Cuff agreed to accept another term. Mr Pleydell moved that any player from another Association be compelled to show his clearance before he be allowed to register with this Association. Tuis was added to the rules.

The secretary was instructed to pay the sum of £2 4s for caps to the Pukekohe Club.

It was arranged to start the Cup competitions on November Ist and to play four rounds if possible. So far it is only thought that there will be four clubs in the Association this season, viz. : —Pukekohe A and B, Mauku and Waiuku.

Mr W. G. Pleydell was appointed sole selector for representative matches and the secretary was instructed to try and arrange with outside Associations for rep matches about ('hristmas. The draw for places resulted as follows : NOVEMBER Ist. Mauku v. Pukekohe B, at Mauku. PukekoheA v. Waiuku, at Pukekohe. NOVEMBER Bth. Mauku v. Waiuku, at Mauku. Pukekohe A. v. Pukekohe B, at Pukekohe. NOVEMBER 15th. Mauku v. Pukekohe A, at Mauku. Pukekohe B. v. Waiuku, at Pukekohe. The second round is to start on November 22nd and follow on November 25»th and December 20th, the first round order to be reversed. The W aitiku delegates asked permission to play tho first round away from liomo on account of their ground nut being iu order.
