An addition of 00,000 acres has been made to the Manukau County Council's territory by mutual arrangement with the Franklin County Council. The annexation from the Franklin County Council affects mostly unimproved land, which is more conveniently situated for control by the Manukau Council than bv the Franklin Council. The readjustment of boundaries was amicably agreed upon by a joint committee from both counties and at the last meeting of the Manukau Council the agreement was ratified. This readjustment will probably result in the formation of another Manukau County riding later on, and the present ridings of the Franklin County Council, as affecting Drury, Hunua and Mercer, will also be rearranged.
