AKA AKA.
A ball was given by the Aka Aka fadets in the Aka Aka hall on Thursday evening and quite a number of prettily dressed ladies braved the unfavourable wonther to thoroughly enjoy thems:-lves on a splendid floor surrounded by nikau, cabbage tree and llag-decorated walls. The thanks of the cadets are especially due to Mrs Selby, Mr J. Wattom and to Messrs H. Dixon, W. Deed and R. Hammond who so generously supplied the music. Sergeant-Major Milton aud Lieutenant Henry carried out the duties of M's.C. in a very pleasant and efficient manner. The catoring was in the hands of Mr Curran and one and all showed appreciation of his art. The boys were very attentive in supplying cool and refreshing drinks during the evening and a very pleasant time was spent. The hoys deserve great credit for the manner in which they decorated the hall and carried out tho duties, entirely without the assistance of their elders.
