TENNIS CLUB. The annual meeting of the Tennis Club was hel l in the Club's room on Mor.dav, September 15th, with a fair uumbcr of members in attendance. The lollowing officers were elected for the coming season President, Mr Mackenzie; secretary and treasurer, Mr D. Mackenzie, junr.; committee, Medames Oldham and Sharp, Miss Mackenzie, Messrs Oldham, Sharp, Donahoe and Kern. The Selection Committee were elected, ard a hearty vote of tha:ka was accorded to the retiiing president (Mr Oldham) and to the secretary (Mr W J. D. Sharp), both of whom have held office for the past three years. A vote of thanks was also accorded to Mr Oldham for bis services eh selector last season. After some discussion it was decided not to join the Association this s a ; oi, owing to th« uncertainty of being able to put a fur team on the ground, several of last season's phyers having left the district. The opening day was fixed tor Saturday, October IStb. SOCIAL AND DANCE.

The final social in connection with the Progressive Euchre C lub was held in the hall 01 Wednesday evening', when there was a large . attendance, in fact tha biggest crowd of tie sens n, The play proved interesting, no fewer thai four having to play off for the men's namely, Messrs R, Jennings, J. Knott, VV. Tooman and J. Clurc. The result proved a win for Mr Jennings. The lady's prize was wsn by Mis 3 Sinclair. A dance followed and was al?o a success in very way. The music was supplied by Messis Forbes (violin) «:iml Marker (piano), mid Mr I) j Mackei zic carri d out the duties of M.C. in his usual ellicicnt manner. '
