That Football Complaint.

i TO THE EDITOR. | Sir,—l was surprised afUr reading a letter under the above heading, that after expressing such tine sporting sentiments and inviting certain persons to corae out into the open, your correspondent self - stykd "Fair Play"—should shelter behind arom de plume. If "Fair Play" considers the strictures passed on the Raglan Union by olliciah of the United Club at their annual dinner («ith the press present) were not merited, also supposing lie is a Union official, why does he hide behind the hedge taking put shots instead of entering a defence? The matter referred to, everyone knows, was the treatment mettd out to certain officers of the United Football Club list year, and the decision re the Te Kimu v. United match this season. Now, Sir, if your correspondent will come into the ocen and not write anonymous Utters, 1 woul 1 be pleased to discuss tha matter with him, Until then, 1 am, AJAX.

Wd have received a letter from "C. Awdry, Patumahoe." It replies to a remark by Cr Henry that th»t lady was "a recent arrival there and not likely to remain long," and adds: "Why, Sir, he made a statement to that effect cltse on two years ago to the Chief Postmaster, yet here I am still and likely to remain." The remainder of the letter repeats and amplifies Cr Henry's alleged breaches of the bylaws and implies unfairness that she should be picked out fur attack whilst others break the bylaws with impunity. We have received a letter dated frcm Waiuku and si»md "Ratepayer." It deals with County Council affairs, as the writer has not enclosed fcis" name we cannot publish the communication. In the letter itself there is nothing objectionable, but all correspondence to the Editor must be accompanied by the writer's nam*, not for publication (unless the writer so desires it) but a* an evidence of good faith.
